Itinerary Details for October 2026 Tour
Arrive in Zurich - I will meet you at Zurich Airport (ZRH). We will spend the first two nights in Zurich. After we check into our hotel, we will explore the city. From there, we'll take a cruise on Lake Zurich to Rapperswil. Located on the southern shore of Lake Zurich, Rapperswil is known for its charming Mediterranean ambiance, featuring beautiful rose gardens, a lakeside promenade, and a castle.
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on an exciting trip to one of Switzerland's most photographed viewpoints. Our first stop will be Schwyz, where we will ride Europe's steepest funicular to the car-free mountain village of Stoos. From there, we will take a cable car up to Fronalpstock, which offers stunning views of Vierwaldstättersee, also known as Lake Lucerne. This beautiful lake basin features deep blue waters and is surrounded by majestic mountains like Rigi and Pilatus. After our adventure, we will return to our hotel in Zurich.
Today, we are heading to Lenk to stay at the beautiful 5-star Lenkerhof Resort. Our private transport will ensure a comfortable journey. Upon arrival, we will have a brief orientation at the hotel. You can then enjoy the spa facilities or explore the charming village of Lenk im Simmental and its surroundings.
A new day, a new adventure. We are traveling to world-famous Gstaad on our way to Glacier 3000. Imagine yourself aboard a panoramic train gliding through the heart of the Swiss Alps, where every bend reveals snow-tipped peaks, emerald valleys, and storybook hamlets. The route to Gstaad winds past mirrored lakes and through elegant tunnels, setting the tone for a journey that feels like a moving postcard. Upon arrival, Gstaad’s charming chalet-lined streets and sophisticated alpine vibe welcome you to a world of refined mountain culture — perfect for strolls, cozy cafés, and boutique browsing. Next, we will travel to Glacier 3000, perched high above the Rhône Valley. Accessible by a thrilling cable-car ascent, this year-round snow paradise invites you to walk the spectacular Peak Walk by Tissot — the world’s only suspension bridge between two mountain peaks — offering jaw-dropping panoramas of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and the Jungfrau. Whether you’re carving fresh tracks on snow, exploring icy crevasses, or savoring hot chocolate with a 3,000-metre view, Glacier 3000 delivers exhilaration and serenity in equal measure.
Today's destination - the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Nestled in the heart of the Berner Oberland, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is a dramatic Alpine trough carved between towering limestone cliffs and crowned by some of the highest peaks in the Swiss Alps, including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The valley lives up to its name — “many fountains” — with 72 waterfalls cascading from great heights, their crystal waters fed by snowmelt and glacier streams high above. Iconic falls like Staubbach plunge nearly 1,000 feet in a veil of mist, while the glacier-fed Trümmelbach Falls thunder through narrow rock chasms, and the mighty Mürrenbachfall drops over 1,300 feet down the valley walls. Whether you’re hiking beside foaming streams, gazing up at snow-tipped summits, or simply breathing in the crisp mountain air, it’s easy to feel invigorated by this place of wild water and jagged stone.
“Where there are mountains and rushing waters, the soul is uplifted, for beauty is the whisper of the earth’s wild heart.”
Another day for another glorious adventure - Perched high above the charming village of Adelboden, Engstligenalp is a breathtaking alpine plateau that feels like a hidden jewel in the Bernese Oberland. Accessible by a short cable-car ride or scenic hike up the valley, this vast meadowland at nearly 2,000 m elevation offers a mix of relaxing and adventurous experiences against a backdrop of rugged peaks and sparkling streams. There we will find a network of trails that suit all levels — from gentle circular walks along the plateau and around peaceful mountain lakes to more ambitious routes that explore high ridges and passes. One of the most unforgettable sights here is the Engstligen Falls, where water plunges in roaring cascades over 600 m down the cliffside, ranking among Switzerland’s most dramatic waterfalls.
Just below Engstligenalp, the village of Adelboden itself is a postcard-perfect alpine town — think cobblestone streets, traditional chalets, welcoming cafés, and panoramic mountain views all around. It’s an ideal location for exploring the high pastures, dining on hearty Swiss mountain cuisine, or simply soaking up the crisp mountain.
Saying goodbye to Switzerland is always bittersweet. Today is our final day in Lenk before we head back to Zurich. But before we leave, let's take some time to enjoy the scenic views atop Rinderberg. The breathtaking mountain vistas will create memories that last for years to come. Afterward, we will return to Zurich in comfortable private transport, concluding another epic Cowbell Travel Experience in Switzerland.
